Not wanting to detract from the wonderful & quirky Movember, that continues to raise awareness & much needed funds for men’s health issues, I have decided that this month will be my SEWvember!
My goal is to find at least 15 minutes a day to do some sewing of my own.
These days I am very busy teaching beginner & intermediate sewing skills to many lovely customers but I’m not making the time to sew myself.
If you visit the Café Sewciety Pinterest boards you will see that my list of inspiring projects is ever growing – so this goal is my motivation to do something about it.
If I get on with it, it’s ideal timing to make sure that all my Christmas present ideas do actually get sewn!
My head is also full of ideas for new lesson & workshops for 2015 so I want to experiment & get samples made so that I can share these ideas to see which appeal the most for the new year schedule.
I would also really like to make myself at least one new item of clothing & get through some alterations that I’ve been meaning to do for a long while!
All of which overlap with each other – the more I sew, the more I build up my repertoire & the more inspiration & ideas I can bring to my sewing customers. Oh & sewing makes me happy – win, win, win!
So here’s hoping that my goal works & I manage to sew for more than 15 minutes some days!
Each day I’ll be posting a photo to my special SEWvember Pinterest board to keep me on track. Please take a look to see what I achieve – you could be inspired.
I’ll let you know how I get on and if it works maybe next year I can encourage a few of you to join me in this SEWvember challenge.
