Back in February when visiting the Malvern Creative Crafts Show I allowed myself one combined treat of a pattern & fabric from 2 of the stalls – this lovely dress (several months later) is the result! These shows are a great source of inspiration & new ideas, it’s also great to see samples made up, be able to touch the fabrics & talk to the business owners. Make Me A Wardrobe – Progress Report #mmaw2015

As it’s the end of April I thought I would give you an update on how I am getting on with this challenge & share a few thoughts.mmaw2015

If you’re not sure what I am talking about, this is the challenge that Jen from Make Do and Mend-able set herself to make herself one garment a month during 2015. As with all her challenges she encouraged others to join in & when I found out about it at the end of January I decided it was just the motivation I needed to find time to make my own clothes this year. My Friday Five – is back!

About 12 months ago I  attempted to start a regular blog to spread the word about items, places & events of interest that I have recently discovered. Whilst I have continued to try to do this via twitter I found I just didn’t have the time to do this with the blog. However I am now going to give it another go with ‘My Friday Five’ – maybe not every week but on a regular basis.

‘My Friday Five’ will reflect my interests so expect to see plenty about sewing, Bristol, cafes, food & drink, supporting local & independent businesses and a few random items for good measure! As Bristol is the European Green Capital for 2015 there will be a green tint to it too!
