Maria loves that these purses are a practical & stylish way to make a very personal gift for friends or keeping yourself!
Skill level: Capable Sewer*
Maria will teach you how to make these purses using a mixture of sewing machine & crafting skills. The workshop will best suit people who have previously used a sewing machine & who like a bit of fiddly crafting!
The finished purse has a sturdy partition & will comfortably hold a phone, lip balm, cards, money and keys. The finished size is approx. 18cm wide x 11.5cm high.
Everyone will start with the basic kit of pattern pieces, silver twin-clasp frame, interfacing, lining & paper string. There will be a selection of cheerful fabrics for you to choose from for the outer & lining of your purse.
We also keep you suitably refreshed & refueled with tea & biscuits!
*Capable Sewer – for this workshop you will need to be comfortable with using a sewing machine to sew straight & zig-zag stitches. The seam allowances are very narrow (2 to 5mm) so you need to be accurate with this to avoid seeing your stitch lines on the finished purse. Other than that the most fiddly but is the glueing!
